hallo!
i'm back at updating today(: finally, anyways, i'm supposed to be studying right now, but hey, i should take a break right? haha.
disclaimer: entry contents are personal religious opinions and should not be taken to offence (:
anyways, as bored as i was, i went to wiki and searched up some interesting religions of the world. haha. i shouldnt comment much, else, i might be put to jail yeah. but its not like these religions exist in singapore anyways.... do they?
oh well. there's this:
The True Russian Orthodox Church of which its members reject processed food and considered bar codes satanic symbols. :| can you believe it, BARCODES!!!! haha. anyways... that's not the interesting thing abt this religion, apparently, in nov 2007, some of its members decided that somehow, they were to hole themselves up in a cave, so that they will be safe until Armageddon comes, which some guy predicted would be in MAY 2008, (which like totally just passed. -.-) and the most amazing thing of all was, he wasnt even with them in the cave. haha. then, part of the cave kind of collapsed when snow melted early this year and most of the members had to be rescued out. lols. so much for safety. and the prophet guy threatened suicide when he realised his prediction was wrong. so, just 2 weeks ago, on may 16, last nine members of the cult emerged from the cave due to the toxic fumes produced by two cult members who had died over winter. ok, i'm not saying they're lame or something. but its hard to doubt they're sanity, however i see it. hahs. ...what religion can do to people :/
then there was this:
The Pana-Wave Laboratory, a japanese religious cult which warned of the evils of electromagnetic waves that the cult claimed were causing catastrophic environmental destruction and climate change. they built the Pana-Wave Laboratory in Fukui Prefecture where they believed was less at risk from electromagnetic pollution. Cultists dressed only in white and covered everything in white in the belief that this would protect them from harmful electromagnetic waves, which they claimed were being used against them by communists who are trying to kill their leader. -.- as much as i like the colour white. it seems all a bit ___. then, like the above religions, Pana-Wave allegedly claim that they had a close encounter with an undiscovered 10th planet, (which little did they know, the 10th planet was alr discovered then, so it was not so holy after all.) predicted for 15 may 2003 to cause the Earth's poles to flip over and lead to earthquakes and tsunamis which would destroy most of humankind, and that they were looking for a safe location to ride out the catastrophe. TV images showed cultists dressed completely in white, complete with white hoods, surgical masks and white boots. Their vehicles were decorated with swirl patterns which they believed neutralised the invisible waves. Everything nearby were also covered in white fabric. TV crew were first shunned by the cult who feared that TV cameras were emitting harmful waves, but were later allowed closer as long as they similarly covered themselves and their equipment in white material. (like how retarded is that.) haix. after 15 may, the leader realised that she predicted the day wrongly and changed it to 22 may instead, but obviously, nothing happened......so they went into obscurity. -.- another example of weird religions.and last but not least. satanic beliefs, i shouldn't elaborate much on this, but what's interesting is that they actually believe (like the 10 commandments in Christianity) that there are 9 heinous sins, one of which happens to be "Stupidity". haha. and as they say, no one should save anyone else from their own stupidity... how interesting.
anyways, i just thought this would be an interesting entry, so please do not prosecute me yeah? haha. not meant to offend. :)
yup, that's abt it i guess......
goodbye this wonderfully diversed world.
